David Palmer - Distant Horizons
On 13 November 2026, Métier is proud to present Distant Horizons from pianist David Palmer, featuring works by Robert Saxton, Thomas Metcalf, and David Palmer himself. David Palmer and Thomas Metcalf met through Robert Saxton when they were both his students at Worcester College, Oxford, and have worked on projects together continuously over the past decade.

The album is an exciting multi-layered collaboration exploring and visualising themes of fragmentation and the intangible through the language of music, and reflects the close collaborative friendships between the three composers. As students, Thomas Metcalf and David Palmer were inspired by Robert Saxton’s music, the rigour of his process, and his respect for and commitment to the craft of composition. This album stands as a reflection of those values while displaying the evolution and development of their own compositional voices.

Saxton’s work ‘Distant Horizons’ was commissioned by and dedicated to David Palmer: its seven movements each address an aspect of the title, exploring distance in music, whether that be in registers, intervals, harmony, or melody, and the idea of moving towards something ungraspable. ‘Distant Horizons’ is a radiant, intricate, and engrossing work, demonstrating all the aspects of Saxton’s imaginative and technically masterful music.

Didacte - go, and come backhine
French composer Didacte today releases go, and come back, the second single from his upcoming new album and to shine. The expansive, piano-led album is set for release through independent record label Bigo & Twigetti on 23 October.

The single captures “movement to and away from a still source” and is “a dance between change and permanence,” he says, describing it as “a recurring odyssey.”

Of the wider album, he continues, “This album is about the freedom, simplicity and glow of wild things, and how liberating it can be to be attuned to them. Inspired by the final lines of a poem from Mary Oliver: ‘you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine’.”

About Didacte
French artist currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. Passionate about classical music, improvisation, and sound textures. Convinced that the freedom and infinite flexibility of electronic music can unveil hidden strengths, colours, rhythm and textures in classical melodies and instrumental takes. And that these instrumental takes, especially when improvised, should exist and remain as they are. Raw, wild, honest, direct. As traces of what was and wanted to be. He also values silence, as the place that allows sounds to exist, that resets our attention, and that can be full of teachings about ourselves.

Erjos - October (Autumn Vol.2)
Wilson Trouvé - Lueur (Autumn Vol.2)
Composers Wilson Trouvé and Erjos release new singles taken from upcoming compilation Autumn Vol. 2. Released by independent label Bigo & Twigetti, the compilation is set for release on 20 November and features autumnal music from 19 composers.

Speaking about his track, Wilson Trouvé says, “Lueur is part of a wider series of waltzes composed throughout 2025 and early 2026. I wanted to explore how the form could adapt to different moods. This one feels particularly mischievous to me; a little like a waltz for a cat, playful, curious, unpredictable, and quietly full of character.”

He continues, “The title ‘Lueur’, meaning ‘glimmer’ or ‘faint light,’ reflects the piece’s fleeting quality: a small spark of joy, curiosity, or mischief that appears almost unexpectedly, then slips away.”

Gabriele Baldocci - Written On A Cloud (Autumn Vol.2)
Hior Chronik - We Are Unwritten Poems (Autumn Vol.2)
e
Composers Gabriele Baldocci and Hior Chronik release new singles taken from upcoming compilation Autumn Vol. 2. Released by independent label Bigo & Twigetti, the compilation is set for release on 20 November and features autumnal music from 19 composers.

Italian virtuoso concert pianist Gabriele Baldocci contributes the piece Written on a Cloud, while Berlin-based composer Hior Chronik’s single is titled We Are Unwritten Poems.

Gabriele Baldocci says, “Written on a Cloud is built around a simple, melancholic melody, the piece begins quietly and gradually grows in intensity, becoming more emotional and expansive as it unfolds. There is a sense of fragility throughout, with a reflective, cinematic quality that never overwhelms the intimacy of the piano.”

On 6 November 2026, Divine Art is thrilled to announce Window to the Stars, its second release devoted to the highly appealing chamber music of Scottish composer Helen Leach. She was a Director of Worship in Manchester and there directed the music for live BBC Radio 4 broadcasts. In 2022, she became Composer-in-Residence at Marchmont House, Berwickshire. Jay Chakravorty - Overture, Or You Can Be Anything You Want To Be If You Just Put Your Mind To It
Jay Chakravorty releases new single, Overture, or You Can Be Anything You Want To Be If You Just Put Your Mind To It. The is the second to be taken from Jay’s upcoming album Blood Songs, which is set for release on 13 November through independent record label Bigo & Twigetti. The record is a collection of music inspired by his experiences growing up and living as a mixed race man in the UK.

Speaking about Overture, Or You Can Be Anything You Want To Be If You Just Put Your Mind To It, Jay says, “This is what I was told as a kid. And I’m grateful for it. It gave me the basic grounding and confidence I needed to dream and plan and to try to achieve things. But it might not actually be true. Maybe it’s more true now than it was when I was a kid in the 80’s, but I remember realising early on that, as a brown person, there were actually quite a few things I wanted to be that didn’t seem all that available to me, no matter how much I put my mind to it.

“As a kid, I never saw a face like mine making and performing the sort of music I liked or acting on TV or in film as a character that wasn’t just a cringeworthy racist stereotype, at least until I was in my twenties. And that realisation - that the world has imposed limits on what you can be before you’ve even figured out what it is you want to be - does things to a young person.

“Musically, this piece tries to maintain hope and innocence despite that realisation. There are no electronics, just a slightly naive piano piece and building strings. It is my attempt to make peace with the fact that I am both eternally grateful to have been told that the world was full of limitless possibility, as well as the fact that maybe that limitless possibility didn’t apply to me.”

Blending classical and electronic music, Blood Songs is a striking and emotive collection. Channeling his equal love for string ensembles and modular synths, Blood Songs is his attempt to confront and reconcile his place as a brown British man in today’s world.

Lucy Claire - Hollow
Composer and sound artist Lucy Claire has announced that she will release her new album With Child, Without through independent record label Bigo & Twigetti on 20 November. Out today is the first single to be taken from it, Hollow.

The instrumental album features eleven songs written over the course of a number of years as Lucy experienced pregnancy loss, infertility and IVF. Each track is inspired by a different event or emotion from that time.

Of the first single, Hollow, Lucy says, “Hollow reflects the emptiness that follows pregnancy loss, after the immediacy of the experience has passed and absence begins to settle in. It is a piece about grief and afterimage: the shape left behind by something once imagined, briefly held, then lost, and the quiet space that remains in its place afterwards.”

Of the album as a whole, Lucy says, “With Child, Without traces a passage of time through pregnancy loss, infertility and IVF. Written during those years, the writing of these pieces became a place to hold experiences that often felt beyond language.

Nicholas Michael Smith - Love, Friendship and Longing (Album)
In December 2026, Métier is delighted to present Love, Friendship and Longing on digital EP, a strikingly beautiful collection of songs for four voices and piano four hands set to Tang Dynasty poetry, from Beijing-based composer Nicholas Michael Smith. The singers are acclaimed 20th and 21st century specialists Mimi Doulton (soprano), versatile mezzo-soprano Susan Legg who performed in the world premiere of this work at Cadogan Hall, rising tenor Ben Hancox-Lachman, and experienced recitalist and champion of British song Christopher Foster (bass-baritone). They are accompanied by the multi-award-winning, China-based pianist Shen Yue, and the esteemed pianist and vocal coach William Hancox. The poems are sung in Mandarin, and English translations are by Vikram Seth, Andrew Andreasen, and Nicholas Michael Smith himself.

Smith was inspired to write these songs after witnessing how popular Brahms Liebeslieder Waltzes were when working in a chamber music programme in Peking and wondering if he could create a set of Chinese love songs with the same forces Brahms used. Love, Friendship and Longing also marks 25 years of the Chopsticks Club, a hugely influential network committed to China-UK engagement, bringing people together across cultures through shared experiences, connections, and friendship. The work is dedicated to Smith’s friends, the director-founders H-J Colston-Inge and Theresa Booth.

Robert McCauley - All Our Wrongful Dead
On November 6, Diversions is proud to present ALL OUR WRONGFUL DEAD, a large-scale piece for violin, viola, cello, and piano by composer Robert McCauley, on digital EP. Written in 2017, the work was a response to the mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012, Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in June 2015, and the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, in June 2016, as well as other atrocities. The young performers are Katherine Butler (violin), Zev Malina (piano), Sebastian Berofsky (cello), and Molly Pope (viola).

Moved by the senseless massacres of innocent people by lone gunmen, McCauley needed to write music to express his sadness and horror at these events, a melodic, emotional, and powerful classical work to help us connect with the difficult feelings … outrage … anguish … again and again, the title of the first movement, refers to the seeming perpetual cycle of sudden violence, national shock, elected leader’s non-action, and gradual amnesia until the next attack comes. The rich melodies and harmonies of this movement are based on the first six notes of Robert Schumann’s Aufschwung from Fantasiestücke, Op. 12, heavily influenced by Arvo Pärt’s Symphony No. 3. However, McCauley introduces modulations in phrases, sudden changes of texture and dynamics, and other unexpected surprises to create a “musical section-silence” structure to keep the listener purposely off balance, just as life has been kept off balance with lulls of safety followed by atrocity.
